Session II - April 30 to May 25

4 Weeks

General Physical Preparation and Eccentric Strength Phase

  • 4 week phase designed to build the base condition for the athlete for the 2011 training year cycle
  • Base conditioning will consist of workouts performed for time and interval training with bodyweight exercises.
  • Eccentric strength phase will help prepare the athlete for more dynamic plyometric workouts to come in the upcoming phases. 
  • Speed training consisting of drill work to insure proper mechanics of running are used to keep the athlete healthy and efficient. Repeat intervals will also be used as a form of general preparation for conditioning so the athlete use their ice time for more important areas than just base conditioning

  

Focus of On Ice Sessions

  • Puck Skill Maintenance
  • Small component of skating and edgework
  • High tempo small are and full ice scrimmages
  • Keep a player on ice and ready for competition of upcoming tryouts

Focus of Total Hockey Sessions:

  • Developing all puck skills
  • Improving on ice vision and playmaking ability
  • raising players tempo with the puck
  • Skating Mechanics and quick starts
  • All with personal data tracking, online player profiles, and instant feedback
