Total Hockey of Madison has teamed up with Hitter's Athletic Performance to bring to high school, junior, and college hockey players the premier hockey specific training opportunity. This is Madison's only all-inclusive program for non-professional skaters designed to elevate your overall athleticism, hockey specific skills, and your mental approach to training and competing. The Commitment to Excellence Program has been designed by a team of coaches with many years of experience in hockey specific skill development, strength training, and high-level competition. The structure will be similar to successful training programs being used by Junior, College, and Pro Athletes in training facilities all over the world. Including Winnipeg, MB, Hudson, WI, Twin Cities, MN and even right here in Madison by Badger Hockey's, Jim Snider.
“The Commitment to Excellence program is an outstanding program for the high school hockey player who is looking to prepare themselves for the juniors or college ranks. The design of this program follows an elite athlete development model, which allows for the proper emergence of athleticism and hockey specific skill development. Bridging this gap allows the athlete to prepare themselves for the rigors of training and playing at the elite levels of the sport. Following a sequentially structured off-season program will yield optimal athlete preparedness, which makes this program second to none.”
Jim Snider – Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, Badger Hockey
The Commitment to Excellence Program will include on ice training, high tempo on ice scrimmages, off ice skill development at Total Hockey of Madison, and off ice strength and conditioning at Crossfit Madtown (located just minutes from Total Hockey of Madison).
The off season training will begin in April with a goal setting and ambition interview, in which players will be expected to answer questions about short term and long term goals as well as why they are interested in becoming part of the program. In addition, players will receive strength and speed testing on and off the ice.
