What is Flex Training?
The best description for Flex training is that it is similar to a fitness club class (i.e. yoga or spin class). It is always with an instructor and kept in small groups of 6 to 8 players per instructor.
How long is each Session?
Each Flex Pass Session is 75 minutes in length.
What do the players work on during a Flex Training Session?
In each session players will work on skating, quick starts, multitasking, vision, puckhandling, and shooting
(Click to see pictures). The main focus will be on hockey specific skills and on a player’s ability to perform these skills with correct technique. The better the form the more emphasis is put on an ability to perform these skills at a high speed and intensity. With our data tracking system we can easily motivate players to perform at a higher lever and show them that they are.
Why am I not allowed to just work on a single skill during a Flex Session?
Through years of working with athletes of all age levels and all abilities we have found that when training hockey specific skills it is just as important to train your strengths as it is your weaknesses. The better your strengths become, the easier it is to work on your weaknesses and visa-versa. Skills come down to nothing more than knowing how to move your body correctly, so the more an athlete can learn how make their body move with precision the better they are at learning, correcting, or conquering new tasks.
